The service was fast and friendly, making us feel right at home. As for the food, it exceeded our expectations—everything was delicious. “ Gillaneh Persian Restaurant is a gem in North Vancouver! As an Iranian myself, I truly appreciate how authentically they prepare traditional dishes. I had kale pache and halim, and both were absolutely spot on—rich in flavor, comforting, and just like home. The kale pache was tender and well-seasoned, and the halim had that perfect balance of sweet and savory. The ambiance is cozy and beautifully Persian, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Service was a little slow, but honestly, the quality of the food made it well worth the wait. So grateful to have a place like this close by. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Persian comfort food! ”

“ Gilaneh makes great food, the kind that is enjoyable when shared. We had a friend come visit us from overseas last year, and we knew we were going to have a great time here. We were grateful to the friendly staff who made us feel welcome and helped us with our dish selections. We got ourselves a pitcher of Doogh (an unsweetened, herby yogurt drink), and ordered from a selection of their roast meats, stews, breads and rice dishes. We were most impressed by the way the meat juices flavour the rice, and the way the herbs, spices and seasoning across three different colours of rice (red, yellow and white) elevate our tastebuds in each bite. One final comment on their dessert, we highly recommend the Faloodeh as it was our first time trying. It is a Persian sorbet made from rice vermicelli noodles with a flowery rose syrup. The unique aromas and textures were not only interesting but a great palate cleanser to end the meal with. ”

“ We organized a big professional event here and had both Iranian and non-Iranian guests. Some of our guests had never tried Iranian food before and Gilaneh left such a positive impression. The event was a huge success and a major part of this was the warm and welcoming environment in Gilaneh. The food was incredible and the portions were large. The seating and decor was very elegant. Mahtab, Shadi, and Asefeh were such hospitable and helpful staff. They told me about the brunch buffet on Sundays 9:30am-2:00pm and I’m looking forward to going. “ I had an amazing experience at this Persian restaurant! I originally came in looking for a food tray I saw on Instagram, but unfortunately, it was not available. However, I still had a great time! The fresh, homemade hot bread served as an appetizer was a wonderful start—it was soft, warm, and paired perfectly with the dips. The kebabs were juicy, and the fresh herbs made everything even better. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was great. Even though I couldn’t try the dish I wanted, I truly enjoyed my meal and will definitely come back! If you're looking for delicious local Persian food, this place is a must visit! ”

“ Beautifully decorated place with lots of flowers all around the restaurant. Food was great and flavorful. Meat was very soft and tender. Vegetarian options available and pomegranate tea is MUST TRY! Freshly baked breads are complimentary. Service was decent even though we were the only table occupied. ”

Just a suggestion to serve the food in warm plates as they have these beautiful hand-made metal plates, but as they are cold, the food gets colder fast. ”
